"The Phantom of the Opéra — Again ", a movie review.

"Stagestruck Vampires and other phantasms", a collection of the best of Suzy's shorter stories including new essays and fiction, appears from Tachyon Books on Halloween, 2004. "Stagestruck" includes the hard-to-find erotic tour de force, "Beauty and the Opera, or the Phantom Beast"; and her newest novella, "Peregrines", previously only available electronically.

January 7, 2004: A new novella, "Peregrines", appears onscreen at http://www.scifi.com/scifiction/ (use search function -- the story will move from front page to some area of SCIFICTION'S story archive).

Suzy's full-length fantasy play "Vampire Dreams" will be given a staged reading by Chrysalis Theatre as part of the Smith College Theatre Department reading series, Thursday April 1, 2004 at 7:30 pm. Suzy will do a reading and lecture while visiting Smith.

Suzy will attend the Popular Culture Association's convention in San Antonio, Texas, as the Science Fiction/Fantasy Area's Special Guest, April 7-19, 2004.


Clarion Writers' Workshop, 2004: Week Two (June 12-19) of this intensive writing course at Michigan State University will be taught by Suzy as part of a 6-week line-up of faculty that includes Nina Kiri Hoffman, Nancy Kress, Andy Duncan, Jeffrey Ford, and Greg Frost. Guest editor will be Gordon van
Gelder.


2003 World Science Fiction Convention, Toronto: Suzy Charnas was inducted into the Gaylactic Spectrum Hall of Fame in recognition of the four books of the Holdfast Chronicles. See also "Awards and Honors" for details about this award.
